EASYCUT BASE201 Metalworking Coolant (KSS), Basic, Drum 208 l

Short Description

Water-miscible semi-synthetic coolant concentrate for grinding and light to medium cutting operations. EASYCUT BASE201 is primarily intended for cast iron and steels, for example grinding, band sawing, turning, and milling. Contains mineral oil. Compatibility with aluminum alloys should be tested in advance, as some alloys may darken.

Product Properties and Advantages

• Stable emulsion mixing with water hardness from 5 to 30 °dH, during operation (salt build-up) hardness up to 60 °dH is acceptable
• High corrosion protection
• Good washability (clean equipment)

Recommendations and Features

• For a finely dispersed, stable emulsion, an automatic mixer is recommended, for example CS-30
• For manual preparation, slowly add concentrate to water (never water to concentrate) while mixing evenly
• Recommended concentration: grinding 4-6%, turning and milling 7-10% (steel, cast iron). For aluminum alloys, start with a small trial and adjust as needed
• Measure working concentration with a manual (LQ20T) or electronic refractometer. Multiply the reading by the refractometer factor 1.6
• Aluminum alloys can be machined with BASE201, but the risk of staining or darkening should be checked beforehand

Shelf Life and Storage

• Stable for 12 months when stored at 5 °C to 40 °C in unopened containers

* The increased pH in the fresh emulsion may cause temporary strong odor and temporary darkening on certain aluminum alloys during the first 1-3 days of operation. Afterwards the pH typically drops to normal values of 9-9.5.
